![]() Spammers are most probably adding your e-mail address to their subscriptions list. ![]() You should see several names that you will not recognize – that is because all these are subscriptions that you did not voluntarily sign up for. Picking Hotmail over Gmail back in 2007 because I was weary of anything beta was one of the biggest mistakes I've made in my online life.Ĭheck out your "subscriptions" list. Both the web client and Android app sometimes ignores my setting to not load remote content from unknown senders for example after deleting a spam message if you then open it in the deleted folder.Īnd now the cherry on top whitelisting doesn't work properly either which I begrudgingly started using since I was left with no other good options. The Android app doesn't have an easy way to add people to the safe senders list.As a result of point 2 and 3 I can't even setup reliable email forwarding so I could move to Protonmail for example without still having to keep an eye on my Outlook spam folder. There's no way to completely disable the near useless built in spam filtering either to get around point 2.Your filters don't even apply to messages that end up in spam for some god forsaken reason. The custom filtering options are very limited and don't always work as expected. ![]() I'm so fucking done with how shitty Outlooks (web client/Android app) spam filtering is. I had also had Inbox set to exclusive, so anything that wasn't on a safe list was automatically filtered into junk mail.
